Pour hours of hard work into a piece of original artwork that makes you stand back and say, "This is, without a doubt, one of the greatest things I've ever created" and consider it your Magnum Opus?
You're lucky if you get one or two comments, maybe a favorite.
Hastily and effortlessly slop together a Demotivational Poster using a screenshot from a videogame and a website that automatically churns out these posters without you having to do more than just submit a picture and some text... and throw in a reference to Invader Zim?
It gets favorited practically every day.
And after the twentieth notification that someone favorited this piece of crap, you begin to shake your head and say, "What's wrong with you people? I have art in my gallery! Art! Original art! With actual effort! Why is everyone flocking to the lazy Invader Zim Demotivational? Why? WHY?"
...
And you feel like this guy from Invader Zim: www.youtube.com/watch?v=autcUk…
NOTE: You may be exempt from the above if you happen to be one of deviantART's better-known artists. Then again, I'm sure that even those artists have those days where they scratch their heads and wonder why people are still favoriting their least-liked upload.

The Most Loneliest Day of My Life
Such a lonely day
And it's mine
The most loneliest day of my life
When I...
When I came downstairs and saw him... there he lay, in his mother's arms, stripped of all movement and reduced to panting vigorously with the wild, feral look in his eyes of an animal about to die.
And I...
And I kissed him gently on the forehead, telling him how much I loved him... at once, his breathing quieted, and although he had not the strength to turn his head, I could see him look at me from the corner of his milky eye.
Goodbye...
Goodbye, my little brother.
And if you go
I want to go with you
And if you die
I want to die with you

Up2date: The Pie is a Fake
Does the title say "Update" or "Up to date"?
So, yeah. Portal 2. It's awesome. Got it the day it came out thanks to amelioration, beat single-player over Easter weekend, have not gotten a chance to touch multi-player yet (on the bright side, doombringer's Steam is finally working again; he just needs Portal 2!), and I've just been recently earning the last few achievements and listening to Developer Commentary.
You know what else is awesome? The Portal 2 soundtrack. I'm not kidding when I say it's vastly improved over its predecessor. Although I prefer "Still Alive" over "Want You Gone", the rest of the soundtrack is brilliant. When I
'A llama? He's supposed to be dead!'
Okay, so it's the Unofficial "The Cake Is A Lie" Day again! Yay!
And I've just received... two... llama badges?
Huh. That's odd. Where did all these llamas come from? How did they get there? Were they once former emperors who were tricked into drinking a llama potion even though they were supposed to drink poison to save on postage? Were they reskinned simulation dogs and whenever one died the message "Pet dog has died" would pop up? Can you explain that to me? Why do I have these llamas and neither Mars nor Venus has them? Did they just happen? Were they just lucky? Some meteor did all of this? Oh dear, now I'm sounding like a
242 Stars Later...
Got Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Christmas, and I just completed it this morning. All 242 stars. Gold stars, comet stars, green stars... they've all been found and collected by the ever-persistent Mario! And his brother Luigi...
The game was fantastic. Yoshi was a great addition, and Throwback Galaxy was incredibly nostalgic. I personally found the green stars to be a great idea, since they forced the player to keep their ears open and explore the levels in ways they had not thought of before... much better than the first game's stars 121-240, which simply made players replay the entire game as Luigi.
The one problem I had with the game wa

Oh do I know that feel, granted I've been posting my stories in a pdf and I honestly wonder how many are actually reading it or just faving for the art. Maybe if I'm lucky I think some is because they're one of my followers but still...*sighs*
